Baukost in the Campanar district of Valencia (Spain)

The fire that occurred on 22 February 2024 in Valencia in a residential complex of 138 dwellings - home to more than 450 people - in the Campanar neighbourhood, aggravated by weather conditions, is considered one of the most serious fires ever recorded in the city.

More than 20 fire brigades were deployed to the scene and the population was asked to stay away from the area. The central government activated the deployment of the Military Emergency Unit to help with firefighting and victim support.
